The Outstanding Players Who Signed Up for the Third Season of Poker Superstars
After completing two successful seasons, the poker superstars invitational tournament designed a third season that aims to continue featuring the best players of poker. While not necessarily as glamorous as the first couple of years, the third installment of this major poker event was still well attended by the finest and outstanding players who have stepped up for the game. Just like the second season, the third sequel also featured a total of 24 highly qualified international poker players, with each being required to pay a $50,000 buy-in.
While the third season of this invitational tournament featured mostly title-holders, a couple of participants have yet to achieve any major victory in the grand events of poker, namely second season participant Mimi Tran and Jeff Shulman. Despite the presence of these two non-champions, the level of competition was still expected to be intense as ever. Besides Tran and Shulman, the rest of the pack has already earned major titles, achievements, and victories in both the world series of Poker and the World Poker tour.
Aside from the non-titleholders, it is quite interesting to look at the players who are in their second tour of duty at the poker superstars Invitational Tournament. After joining the second season, Antonio Esfandiari, Eli Elezra, and Kassem Deeb returns for another opportunity to partake at the high-octane poker action of this major event. The same also goes for the other outstanding players like Carlos Mortensen, Chris Moneymaker, and Ted Forrest. Completing the list of second and third season participants are Cyndy Violette, Mimi Tran, and Mike Sexton.
In addition to the second and third season participants, some players have returned to the third season of Poker Superstars after joining the inaugural season of this major poker event, namely Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey. Meanwhile, a couple players have attended every single season leading up to the third installment, namely Johnny Chan and Barry Greenstein. With the presence of such rich talent and skill, the third season is expected to be another classic showdown among the best of the best in the game of poker.
While all of the aforementioned poker superstars have previous experiences being at this major poker event, other players are just getting their very first take at the action being offered by the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament. The list of first timers attempting to win the third season of Poker Superstars include Joe Hachem, who has a single World Series of Poker bracelet and one major World Poker Tour victory behind his belt. Meanwhile, Phil Hellmuth Jr. has a total of 11 World Series of Poker bracelets and Erick Lindgren has a couple of major victories at the World Poker Tour. Mike Matusow, Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Jennifer Tilly, and Jeff Shulman complete the list of first-time participants.
