The Tournament Structure of the Poker Superstars Invitational Event in Season 1

Known for having high standards when providing good poker competition, the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament implemented different kinds of structures in each of its successful seasons. This means that the inaugural season differed relatively from the succeeding couple of seasons. With only eight participants overall, the first season was obviously different from the second and third installments of this major poker event.

During the first season, the organizers divided the poker tournament into two exciting series. At the end of each, the starting chips of the participants in the finals will be based on their finishing spots in the series ender. Simultaneously, the final chips of the players in the preliminary parts of each series will determine their starting chips at the series ender. Aside from the title, the grand champion of the first season will take home a guaranteed $1 million. With over $3 million in prizes to give away, the participants are expected to get their fair share of money for providing one outstanding poker show.

At rounds 1 and 2 of every series, players begin the match with each of them holding 100,000 worth of chips. After these two rounds, the positions of the players will determine how much chips they would have at the start of series ender match. The individual who would end up at eighth place overall at the end of the first two rounds would start with 32,000 chips. The seventh-place holder would start with 40,000 chips, while the sixth-place holder would start with 56,000 chips. Meanwhile, the fifth-place holder would begin the series ender with 72,000 chips, and the fourth-place holder would start with series finale with 88,000 chips.

Because of their impressive finishes at the end of the first couple of rounds, the top three placers would be awarded with huge amount of chips to start with at the series ender. The third place-holder would start with 112,000 chips, the second place-finisher would start with 150,000, and the player at the top spot would start with a grand 250,000 chips. This format was implemented all throughout the tournament to maintain the high quality of the present poker competition at hand.

Just like the first series, the second series is expected to be just as exciting and fun. The chips of the players at the end of the first series would then be added to their winnings in the second series, which will then determine their positioning as well as their starting chips for the grand finals. After the two series, the individual at the eighth spot would have to compete in the finals starting with 64,000 chips. The seventh, sixth, and fifth placers would then start with 80,000, 112,000, and 144,000 chips respectively. The fourth, third, and second placers at the tournament would have to begin the final round with 176,000, 224,000, and 300,000 chips respectively. The first place finisher would enter the grand finals with 500,000.
